A national campaign called “Don’t?Guess?Test!” is controversially distributing HIV home testing kits in Washington, DC, that are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Washington Business Journal reports. The kits provide results in about two minutes.

According to the article, the kits are made by Africa-based Salamander Concepts and are available in Europe, Africa and the Far East.

The campaign rolls out June 23 and culminates in DC on National HIV Testing Day on June 27. Because the tests are not FDA-approved, campaign spokespeople will not disclose the number of tests to be distributed or where they will be given out.
