NYC AIDS Memorial Final Design Unveiled

The final design of the New York City AIDS Memorial in Greenwich Village was unveiled by the Brooklyn–based architecture studio a+i, The Huffington Post reports. The design—a triangular shape elevated as a canopy with triangle legs and two benches—was created as a “living memorial” to the epidemic. The organizers also officially launched a fundraising campaign to build the memorial. They hope to raise $4 million from public and private donations. The memorial will sit across the former site of St. Vincent’s Hospital, which was the epicenter of the early AIDS epidemic.

If that was the BOSTON memorial,I would get a group of gay men to modify it. In the dead of night with metal saws. Great art is talked about. Its just a BUS STOP, AND NOT A GOOD ONE. Maybe they can add a shelter under it. that tells the story of HIV/AIDS. BY ITSELF forget it. and what about at night. Will it become some dark, drug/homeless space.
