The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene claims it’s planning to start an information campaign about post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), Out.com reports. The move is in response to demands by ACT UP New York in recent protests calling out the city health department on various concerns about PEP and PrEP, including not spending significant resources on HIV testing and prevention for gay men. The department defended its record on that specific concern.
