AIDS Walk of Oklahoma City Launches 'Red State' Exhibit
Oklahoma advocates have launched an art exhibit to raise awareness about people living with HIV/AIDS in the state, The City Sentinel reports. The AIDS Walk of Oklahoma City board of directors and local artist Ashley Griffin have partnered to use portrait photography and real life stories in a project titled “Red State: A portrait of HIV/AIDS in Oklahoma.” The expected completion date is December 1, which is World AIDS Day. Some people who can be open about their HIV status will show their faces, but others who cannot will show the backs of their heads. Audio of their stories will accompany the photos.
