A series of regional listening sessions will be held this summer on the implementation of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS), according to AIDS.gov. The White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP) will host the sessions, which will be led by Douglas Brooks, the newly appointed ONAP director.

ONAP seeks to better understand state and local efforts to implement the NHAS, as well as discuss how the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. the health care reform law, or ACA) is helping to implement the NHAS. The sessions will be free and open to the public, but pre-registration will be required.

The first session will be held in Jackson, Mississippi, on Thursday, May 29. The second will be in Columbia, South Carolina, on Tuesday, June 3, and the third will be in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday, June 5. Additional locations include Oakland, San Francisco, Chicago and New York City.
