HIV-Positive Pastor Charged With Sexual Abuse of Minor

A central Kentucky-based pastor has admitted to having unprotected sex with a 15-year-old and not disclosing his HIV-positive status to the minor, MSNBC reports.

According to the article, 47-year-old James H. Bell was arrested December 30 after going to the Shelby County Detention Center and telling police that he had sex with the juvenile “on multiple occasions” in 2007. An arrest citation says that the pastor of Refuge Temple Church of God in Christ never told the minor he was HIV positive.

Bell is charged with sexual abuse, wanton endangerment and third-degree sodomy. He remained in jail on Tuesday, January 6, on a $50,000 bond.

There should be a more thorough screening of people before they become church leaders. This one definitely slipped through the cracks. I am a strong Christian and I detest people that take positions that know good and well they have no intentions of living up to them (be it pastor, military, or where ever.) If you are not serious DON'T APPLY FOR THE POSITION. It makes the ones that are serious be doubted and shunned because of the fake one's fakeness. He should be fired and his name noted...

This is when a person should really be charged with a serious crime for not telling their status, plus charges for having sex with a minor period. I sure do pray that the youngster does not get infected.
