University of Pittsburgh Gets $11M for HIV Research
Four University of Pittsburgh research projects focusing mostly on HIV prevention have received more than $11 million from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Trib Total Media reports. The projects include: examining if birth control injections make women more vulnerable to HIV; determining the safety and effectiveness of injecting the HIV drug rilpivirine to prevent contracting the virus; developing a test to detect HIV earlier; and analyzing if certain HIV drugs can be made in low-income countries.

all very cost effective research that will make a certain impact on the negative effects of this disease.
