POZ and Real Health Sign On as Media Sponsors of the 2013 National African American MSM Leadership Conference on HIV/AIDS and other Health Disparities

The 2013 National African American MSM Leadership Conference on HIV/AIDS and other Health Disparities welcomes POZ Magazine, Real Health Magazine and Urban Socialites as Media Sponsors.  The conference is celebrating its 10th anniversary in sunny Los Angeles at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel on West Century Boulevard slated for January 16-20, 2013.  The planning committee of the conference is readying plans for a unique celebration of the only National Black conference for and by Black gay men under the theme, “10 Years and the Dialogue Continues” - HIV Prevention as Social Justice for Black Gay Men/MSM 2013 and Beyond.

“We are pleased to offer support as a Media Sponsor to the National African American MSM Leadership Conference on HIV/AIDS and other Health Disparities,” stated Ian Anderson, president of Smart + Strong, the publisher of POZ and Real Health Magazines.

Real Health Magazine is the leading health magazine for African American in the United States.  Launched in 2004, it covers fitness and nutrition as well as a broad range of health issues affecting Black families.  It’s published four times per year and distributed nationally through doctor’s offices, health clinics and community based organizations.

POZ Magazine and poz.com are the nation’s leading publication and website about HIV/AIDS.  Offering unparalleled editorial excellence, POZ and poz.com are identified by their readers as their most trusted sources of information about the disease.  Serving the community of people living with and those affected by HIV/AIDS since 1994, POZ chronicles the AIDS pandemic domestically – and around the world.

Once again, Urban Socialites joins in the celebration as a Media Sponsor in recognizing and chronicling the Black gay men conference experience.  Urban Socialites provides the best platform for today’s LGBT affluent Men and Women of color. The magazine provides more positive realistically identifiable images of the Black Gay Male prospective. With an influential readership which includes well-known names in art, dinning, fashion, entertainment, politics, health, and media. Currently the magazine is one of the leading Black Gay Magazines representing the Southern Region. They’re the New Face & Voice of The Black LGBT Community.

Conference 2013 expects to attract over 450 participants including researchers and clinicians, doctors, youth and young adult’s organizations, people living HIV/AIDS, health care professionals, health and social advocates, international and regional professionals, pharmaceutical companies and churches with an HIV/AIDS and other health disparities focus.
