Rebekka Armstrong, a Playboy Playmate and a POZ cover girl, spoke with students at Towson University in Maryland about her experiences being diagnosed with HIV, The Towerlight reports.

According to the article, safer sex was one of Armstrong’s central messages to students. “Take the time to protect yourself,” Armstrong told the audience. “You are worth it.”

Armstrong was Miss September 1986. She was diagnosed with HIV in 1989 and appeared on the cover of POZ in 1998. Twenty years after her diagnosis, Armstrong continues her work as an AIDS activist.

“Being that sex is an important topic in college, I want people to see the repercussions of not having safe sex,” said NaShey Ingram, programming chair for the campus activities board at the university.
