Carlos Rose, a 42-year-old HIV-positive Virginia man, was sentenced to five years in prison based on a charge of infected sexual battery, wsls.com reports. Under a plea deal, he refused to admit guilt in transmitting the virus during unprotected sex with a woman, but accepted the conviction. Rose is already serving 50 years in prison for having sex with a minor and transmitting the virus to her. The five-year sentence will run concurrently with his 50-year sentence.
