Ryan White Deadline Extended 30 Days
On September 25, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a measure to extend funding for the Ryan White CARE Act for 30 days, which would move its reauthorization deadline from September 30 to the end of October, the Southern Voice reports.
According to the article, once this resolution passes both chambers of Congress, funding for AIDS service organizations (ASOs) that benefit from the program will continue for another month. During that time, Congress must reauthorize Ryan White for that funding to continue.
Ryan White—which was last reauthorized in 2006—provides at least $2.1 billion for ASOs nationwide.
