Senate Approves 30-Day Ryan White Extension

The U.S. Senate approved legislation that extends HIV/AIDS funding under the Ryan White CARE Act for 30 days after the September 30 deadline, reports the Southern Voice.

Additionally, the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions voted unanimously to approve a bill renewing the program for four years. That legislation must pass both houses of Congress by the end of October to go into effect.

According to the article, $2.1 billion dollars in funding for HIV services throughout the country is at stake.

and now they say that they have to vote on the ryan white care act to make it available for 4 more year's well the fed's should have nothing to do with this program after all it was set up by a teenage boy who set this up so that everyone one would have care and not have to worry and know they say they have control and if it passes in both houses it will continue for four years well Ryan White got more money from the lawsuit that is should never run out but thats our government spend it all

it figures that the president would give them extra time to get there budgets together hell here in kingman they are usually out of money 3 months after they get it and we only have one person in mohave county that actually deals with the ryan white funding and now the president says they can have more time to get there budgets done well we have been with out services since march of this year that means no help with food medicine co pays and we have no case manager or driver or food vouchers ect
