A survey by The AIDS Institute (TAI) shows HIV care is suffering under the federal budget cuts known as sequestration while the number of clients at AIDS service organizations (ASOs) are increasing, according to a TAI statement. Domestic HIV/AIDS programs have been cut nearly $380 million. Of the 131 ASOs in 29 states and the District of Columbia that participated in the survey, 85 percent experienced funding cuts and 79 percent experienced an increase in clients.
