$538M in Cuts to Federal HIV/AIDS Funds Could Occur Jan. 2
The AIDS Institute has sent a letter to congressional leaders outlining $538 million in cuts to HIV/AIDS funding that could occur on January 2 unless Congress and the president find another option. The cuts would be part of what is known as sequestration, which Congress agreed to in 2011. Automatic across-the-board cuts of more than $1 trillion to both mandatory and discretionary federal spending to bring down the deficit will start in 2013 unless an alternative plan is passed to accomplish the same goal.

Well I believe we need to come up with a petition to prevent this from happening. This is due to the fact I make only 12,000 dollars a year...so I depend on this all important funding for HIV/AIDS in order to be able to afford the labs and the medication to keep my HIV in check and myself healthy.

This is very scary...What to do about this...My question is; "Will the President find some way to make due?" I can't help but to worry.

As a relatively young man (32) living with HIV, I find this information rather scary as I cannot even begin to afford the healthcare that I am receiving from local, state, and federal governmental help...A lot of people will be sick and die if cuts as drastic as this are allowed to occur!!!! Honor and dignity to those that live and have died with this disease
