California School District Sued Over Abstinence-Only Sex Ed
Parents and physicians are suing the Clovis Unified School
District near Fresno, California, over its high school abstinence-only sex
education, according to a statement by the American Civil Liberties Union
(ACLU), which represents the plaintiffs. The lawsuit claims the district is
violating state law, as well as putting the health of teenagers at risk. The
ACLU says the textbook used by the district does not mention condoms, but
instead lists abstinence, self-respect and plenty of rest as ways to prevent
sexually transmitted infections. The ACLU asserts that this suit is the first
of its kind in California.

I am a firm supporter of quality STD prevention programs in all public and private schooling in California. All middle school high school and college campuses should have a standardized, thorough, interactive, in classroom, or online educational class, that is fresh, personal, and dynamic for each level of education, and available at any time through different sources, and easy to access, Easy, smart, proactive.
