San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee will restore all of about $6.6 million in federal HIV/AIDS funds that the city expects to lose in the fiscal year beginning July 1, according to the Bay Area Reporter (BAR). City officials and service providers have expressed concern about the impact that the cuts would have on people living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS. Reductions from the Ryan White funds will total about $4.6 million, and another $3.1 million will be cut from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funding. The Ryan White decrease alone was expected to cut funding to local nonprofits by 20 percent.
