South African Protesters Seek More U.S. AIDS Funding
Thousands of protesters marched on the U.S. consulate in
South Africa demanding the United States increase its HIV/AIDS funding for
Africa, the Huffington Post reports. Wearing green T-shirts with the words “HIV
Positive” on them, the protestors demanded the U.S. government raise its contributions
to the Global Fund on AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to $2.8 billion by 2013.
