Aggravated sexual assault with a deadly weapon charges have been filed against 26-year-old HIV-positive Texas man Christopher Everett for having unprotected sex with a 16-year-old boy without disclosing his status, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by local ABC affiliate KXXV.

The teen told police he had met Everett through Grindr, a social networking iPhone application for men who have sex with men. The youth snuck out of his parents’ house, then later went to Everett’s home where they had unprotected sex. He later learned through another Grindr user that Everett claimed to be HIV positive. Everett later confirmed his HIV status in an interview with investigators.

Everett could face 99 years or life in prison.
