It’s been an exciting year with lots of news on the policy, treatment and advocacy fronts. We’ve seen the lifting of the travel ban, the approval of syringe exchange, the announcement that the next International AIDS conference will be held in the United States, in Washington, DC, in 2012 and we’ve seen the release of a National HIV/AIDS Strategy.

But we’ve struggled to give access to care to all who need it, saw ADAP wait lists shoot up past 5,000 and watched as people with HIV were criminalized for alleged non-disclosure. Research has made headway on the vaccine, microbicide and biomedical prevention fronts. And, last but not least, it seems that one American has been cured of HIV. So, as we head into a new year, we thought we’d look back on some of 2010’ biggest stories, best videos and most talked about treatment topics.

2011 marks the the 30th anniversary of the first diagnosed case of HIV. Let’s hope the new year brings much health and happiness to our community, the resources we need to survive and thrive and a new level of vigor on the advocacy front fighting for human and health rights for people living with HIV/AIDS around the world.

The staffs of POZ and AIDSmeds send our very best wishes for a happy holiday and a joyous New Year!
