Ugandan President Gets HIV Test in Public
President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda got an HIV test in public to encourage his people to know their status, The Associated Press reports. Officials in the country rarely test for HIV in public. By the end of 2014, Uganda aims to test 15 million people for the virus. Down from 18 percent in 1992, the HIV rate in the country has increased from 6.4 percent in 2005 to 7.3 percent in 2011. The increase has renewed prevention efforts.
