Linking HIV/AIDS to World Habitat Day
World Habitat Day 2010 is Monday, October 4, according to a statement by Habitat for Humanity. Designated by the United Nations to be commemorated the first Monday in October, the annual event advocates for decent and affordable housing worldwide. Habitat for Humanity and other groups have organized events around the country to raise awareness. Many AIDS groups, such as Housing Works, have recognized the link between HIV rates and homelessness.
