WAD2015

Tuesday, December 1, is World AIDS Day. Marked by the World Health Organization (WHO), the annual event began in 1988. It is a time to raise awareness of the disease and remember those lost to HIV and living with the virus.

Since 2012, the WHO theme for World AIDS Day has been “Getting to Zero: Zero new HIV infections. Zero deaths from AIDS-related illness. Zero discrimination.”

This year, the White House announced a World AIDS Day theme of “The Time To Act Is Now.”
