Boy With HIV Still Suing Hershey School Despite New Policy

Rhonda Goldfein, the lawyer representing the boy who was allegedly denied admission to the Milton Hershey School because he has HIV, said she plans to continue the lawsuit seeking financial damages despite the school reversing its initial admission decision, PennLive.com reports. The 14-year-old student, who has maintained his privacy but is referred to as Abraham Smith, filed the suit under the Americans with Disabilities Act because the Pennsylvania private boarding school, which serves financially disadvantaged youth, claimed Smith posed a danger to other students. Goldfein said the school has not requested that the suit be dropped and has not offered to settle.
