HIV Prevention Through Mother-Daughter Sex Talks
Chicago-based clinical psychologist Chisina Kapungu, PhD, is using a grant from the National Institute for Mental Health to educate the African-American community on HIV prevention, the Austin Weekly News reports. Working with churches and community-based education programs, Kapungu hopes to reduce infections by helping mothers and daughters communicate about sex. One goal is to convince black girls to postpone sexual activity.
