Naked AIDS Activists Arrested at Boehner’s Office

Three female and four male AIDS activists stripped naked inside U.S. House Speaker John Boehner’s office in Washington, DC, demanding a meeting with him have warrants against them for their protest. The activists from Queerocracy, ACT UP New York and ACT UP Philadelphia painted slogans on their bodies such as “AIDS Cuts Kill” and “Fund PEPFAR, Fund Ryan White, Fund Global Fund, Fund Medicaid, Fund HOPWA.” The action was intended to draw attention to mandatory budget cuts (a.k.a. sequestration) that will go into effect next year on January 2 (a.k.a. the fiscal cliff) unless Congress comes to an alternative agreement before then. If the fiscal cliff is not avoided, which would trigger sequestration, activists claim at least 620,000 otherwise preventable deaths from HIV would occur, global health programs would lose $689 million and domestic HIV programs would lose $538 million. The action was timed in anticipation of World AIDS Day, December 1, and the announcement by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of a blueprint to end AIDS, which activists claim would be nearly impossible if these budget cuts happen.

for those wishing to help with their legal fees, please check the Queerocracy website and Facebook page for info on how to donate. there will also bee a fundraising party in NYC at The Stonewall Inn (how appropriate!) on Tuesday, Dec 18th from 6-10pm, featuring DJ Bones spinning, hot go-go dancers, funky raffle prizes, drink specials and more! suggested admission is $12, more if u can swing it, less if u can't. all 7 naked protesters have since been charged, and need help from our Community!

Are those naked chicks poz?! Pretty hot! Why are they not in the poz personals?!?!? That fat guy on the right would do more for HIV/AIDS with his clothes ON! PLEASE for the cause, and the love of GOD, get on a treadmill and attack the salad-bar, Dude! Not sure how getting naked does anything for our cause other than get you on a sex offender watch list, but hey, I'm open-minded, and always down for naked girls! Keep stripping for us, Ladies! FIGHT AIDS!

These brave souls should be applauded and supported. one way to do that is by helping with their impending legal fees. Queerocracy hopes to host a benefit in two weeks...i'll be happy to post the details here when they're available.
