Cast Members of The Normal Heart on HBO Give a Preview

A panel discussion at the 2014 Television Critics Association’s winter press tour gave cast members of The Normal Heart on HBO an opportunity to share their thoughts on the upcoming film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ryan Murphy, the director, said nearly half of the film has new material by Larry Kramer added to his original play, which depicts the onset of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in New York City. Mark Ruffalo, who stars as Ned Weeks, a character based on Kramer, said he came to “really love” the activist, author and playwright. Julia Roberts, Matt Bomer, Jim Parsons and Taylor Kitsch also star in the film.
