Wednesday, April 10, is the inaugural National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NYHAAD), according to a statement by Advocates for Youth, which launched this new awareness day. In the United States, one in four new HIV cases are among youth ages 13 to 24. Every month about 1,000 young people nationwide contract HIV. More than 73,700 young people in the United States live with HIV. Events will be held across the country to commemorate NYHAAD.
