The Free Speech Coalition (FSC), an adult industry trade association, called for a voluntary moratorium Thursday, August 28, on all production of porn films after an FSC testing facility reported a possible HIV-positive test result from an adult performer.

FSC lifted the shutdown Friday, August 29, after that HIV test result was confirmed as a false positive, according to an FSC blog post. First-generation performers (those who had direct sexual contact) also were tested for HIV with confirmed negative results.

FSC called for three shutdowns in 2013 after performers tested HIV positive, but none of those transmissions were confirmed to have occurred during film production. According to FSC, the current system has resulted in no HIV transmissions on set in over 10 years.
