Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor Publishes Memoir
The first Latina to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court has published a memoir, The Washington Post reports. In My Beloved World, Sonia Sotomayor tells the story of her life up to her appointment to the federal bench 20 years ago. The 58-year-old recounts growing up with her Puerto Rican–born parents in the Bronx, New York, including her struggles living with diabetes since she was 7. The book also reveals her connection to HIV through the death of a cousin addicted to heroin who died of AIDS-related complications.
