Lancet Commission to Publish AIDS Recommendations in 2014
Established in 2013, the Lancet Commission will publish its recommendations on the future of AIDS and global health by the end of 2014, according to a statement by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), which convened the commission. The recommendations will appear in the medical journal The Lancet, which the group is named after. The announcement was made in London during the final meeting of the group, which includes more than 40 heads of state and political leaders, HIV and health experts, activists, scientists and private sector representatives. The recommendations will address the health goals of the post-2015 development agenda of the United Nations, which is in the process of planning beyond its soon-to-expire Millennium Development Goals.
