If only we had a vaccine for HIV, we could try to use it as part of a cure. Give a poz patient the vaccine, wait a month for full immune memory, then stop ART treatment while being given steroids to limit inflammation and a hyperimmune response, which pumps out more HIV into the body than the immune system can handle. Maybe this tapering method would help eliminate the viral reservoirs. Who knows? Worth a shot.
