Has HAART maxed out your cholesterol? Time to, uh, scale it down. A University of Guelph, Ontario, study shows that people can lower their “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglycerides if they down the Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish along with the oil from primrose or borage seeds, which contain a chemical called GLA. Peter Metralexis, a Manhattan chef who caters to HIVers, says that “tuna burgers are the first thing on my mind every morning” and recommends a recipe so easy it’s almost fishy:

Tuna Burgers

two cans tuna
* one cup cooked rice
* one cup sautéed red onions
* one teaspoon fresh dill
* salt, pepper and bread crumbs

Mix all ingredients. Mash and shape into patties, grill, and then top with a tablespoon of primrose oil (from your local health-food joint).

Why not wow your fish-finicky friends with a baked salmon steak? Coat with oil, cover with herbs, wrap in foil and bake that baby at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Splash on teriyaki sauce and primrose oil, and serve. Then fish for compliments.
