My saddest findings since becoming infected in 2011 is the realization that the gay community turns its back and discriminates against people living with aids. I simply can't understand why there is not a strong brotherhood of support in the gay community in my region of the country. Why are positive people treated like they wear the scarlet letter by our own kind? The other upsetting factor is how so much money is spent on legalization of marriage of same sex couples, ands aids is left behind
The United States Government is spending billions upon billions of dollars building infustructure in Afghanistan (schools, roads, bridges) that arn't even being used. Why can't the U.S. set aside 1 billion annually for CURE RESEARCH!!
I think more then three things are needed in our efforts to end AIDS with a healing cure in adding more prayer, more faith and more actions with love and pure truths in unity. TG

Françoise Barré-Sinoussi's last remark was the need for innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration and funding. It's not only about having more money. Young medical researchers at universities collaborating with Metro City Public Health Centers, the CDC, and technology corporations is paramount for a cure. Please write your congressmen and educate on the formula, not just the money.
