HIV/AIDS advocate Allen Anthony Huff died June 9 at his home in Texas, The Houston Chronicle reports. He was 51. After receiving his HIV diagnosis in 1995, Huff became an advocate for HIV prevention and treatment. He was an active member of AIDS Alliance for Children, Youth and Families; Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS; and Gay Men's Health Crisis. In his hometown of Houston, Huff was involved with the AIDS Foundation of Houston and the Center for AIDS Information & Advocacy, and he was on the board of The Center for AIDS. Huff also wrote for several publications, including POZ. Family members ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The American Red Cross in his memory.
