In partnership with the Greater Than AIDS campaign, Clear Channel Communications is creating a series of public-service announcements (PSAs) to broadcast HIV/AIDS information and promote testing. The PSAs will appear on Clear Channel’s radio stations and websites in anticipation of National HIV Testing Day, June 27.

The Greater Than AIDS campaign, backed by the Black AIDS Media Partnership, was created last year to raise HIV awareness among African Americans through a variety of media outlets.

The Clear Channel PSAs will confront stigma and direct listeners to online resources for HIV/AIDS information and local testing centers. In addition, the Clear Channel and Greater Than AIDS partnership includes a 30-minute radio program, debuting in June, and more than 1,500 Greater Than AIDS billboards and other outdoor ads placed in 19 markets with high HIV/AIDS rates throughout the country.

“Clear Channel is proud to continue its partnership with Greater Than AIDS to provide current, relevant information to communities hard hit by HIV/AIDS,” Lisa Dollinger, Clear Channel’s chief communications officer, said in a statement. “Utilizing our radio, digital and outdoor advertising platforms for these public service announcements is the most effective way of communicating this lifesaving information.”
