Isn't this kind of discrimination banned by the ADA? If I'm right, it should be obvious to the school's attorneys that the suit holds merit... moreover that no one should be summarily terminated for having HIV!

things like this frustrate me as well. I'm in the process of trying to sue federal govn/t for trying to set me up to get fired for disclosing my sexual orientation and hiv status to my supervisor...leave suggestions

I was terminated from my Teaching position back in 1995 because of my diagnosis. So I came here and got my SSA benefits.

Good for him! I too made headlines back in 2009 when I filed a discrimination lawsuit against the school where I was employed. The school settled out of court. I am glad that others are taking a stand against this type of discrimination.

Stories like this really frustrate me. As a gay man i have worked very hard to educate and elimnate ignorance which i believe is the backbone of discrimination. Even though we have made great strides in the past few years stories lik this just rmind us our work is far from done

I wish this gentleman the best. He obviously knows that the laws in California (and beyond) explicitly protect from workplace and hiring discrimination due to HIV/AIDS status. Within "normal" parameters, he ought to win his case.
