Tian Xi, a Chinese AIDS activist, is standing trial for property damage because he dropped a teacup and office supplies at a hospital that wouldn’t provide him HIV treatment after he ran out of medicine, Agence France Presse (AFP) reports. He contracted HIV and hepatitis B and C through contaminated blood supplies. Tian has been advocating for compensation for others who contracted HIV in the same way. He recently learned local officials wanted police to detain him to curb his activism.
