Colorado’s Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol claims it will submit nearly double the 86,000 signatures required to put full pot legalization on the 2012 ballot, The Huffington Post reports. Once submitted, Colorado’s secretary of state will have 30 days to decide whether to certify the measure. The proposed amendment would make it legal for adults 21 or older to possess and use marijuana, as well as to grow it under limited circumstances. Marijuana would also be taxed and regulated in much the same way as alcohol. The Associated Press reports rumors that a federal crackdown on medical marijuana growers and sellers is expected in Colorado in the near future.
