I deal with stress—-from HIV or anything else—by dancing. Once, when I felt the world closing in on me, I turned on my favorite radio show, a bluegrass program (that music always gets me moving) and began prancing around the kitchen. After a minute, I noticed that my dog, Sally, was dancing with me. She’s a golden lab, about 60 pounds, and she doesn’t bounce or jump, just moves from side to side, punctuating the beat with a few barks. Now, she’s my regular dance partner. After woofing it up, we’re both more relaxed.
