A fourth woman has come forward in the case against an HIV-positive African-American man in Buffalo, New York, Buffalo News reports. Darryl Fortner, 20, has been charged with first-degree reckless endangerment for allegedly failing to disclose his HIV status to each of the four women before sex. The Positive Justice Project has criticized media coverage of the case and the underlying principle of criminalizing failure to disclose one’s HIV status, stating that fear of prosecution will make people avoid HIV testing.
