The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) commemorated the late Dame Elizabeth Taylor at the Tournament of Roses Parade in California on January 1, according to an AHF statement. More than 150,000 flowers were used for the AHF float, a red ribbon circling a world globe with oversized photographs of the actress and longtime AIDS activist from various stages in her life and career. Water vials holding the roses also included a hand-written name of a person who passed away and names were collected from AHF donors. The float was the first in the 123-year history of the parade to focus on HIV/AIDS.
