Ten owners of Florida medical clinics were indicted this week for allegedly billing more than $12.5 million in false Medicare claims for HIV/AIDS treatment services and medical equipment. According to a report by Florida Governor Charlie Crist’s office, while Florida has fewer HIV/AIDS cases than California and New York, Florida docs submit three times as many claims as California providers and five times as many as those in New York.
