Two new projects at opposite ends of Africa are taking novel approaches to meeting the needs of HIV positive children. Doctors in Mali are explaining kids’ status to them at a younger age, reports VOA News, in an effort to get them to be more proactive about their health. And in Zambia, the Lubuto Library Project provides library access to AIDS orphans and street children, many of whom aren’t able to attend school for lack of money or because of prejudice.
