Thank you POZ team for bringing light to this subject and informing readers of the on-going progress with HIV discrimination and criminal exposure laws. Without the help and voice of POZ many innocent people would be unfairly locked up. I look forward to reading more on this subject as progress continues.
I am a women living with HIV soon to be 18 years. I believe in the cases where we don't protect ourselves there is no crime. I never thought of pressing charges against this man. It was uneducated and no awareness that I am living with HIV. We will end STIGMA and help in the fight to stop the spread of HIV with AWARENESS, EDUCATION and TESTING, not making living with the disease of HIV a crime. I am a Mother, Daughter, Sister and Grandmother living with a HIV not a criminal.
Here in Jacksonville, Florida many may know have some of the most unique laws on the books filled with fear, shame, and guilt of the community at large. Recently the HIV name severance teams of the state and AHF met to implement a new computer system to track HIV people and data base information of all being treated in the three systems between AHF, Rainbow Clinic and the State. If one is not compliant with their meds they send a black ball list to all providers. What is next from FL's HIV act

Hiv is not a crime, but not telling your sexual partners IS. Man up boys & girls. The United Methodist Church now pays for my healthcare. HIV HAS taken away my freedom and innocence just as much as my clergy abuse.
