Greg, I agree totally. I just turned 50 and am having trouble with bone and muscle loss, as well as lipodystrophy that causes my belly and neck to get fatty. But I've had the love of 2 wonderful men in my life, and the heartbreak of losing them both. I'm ok with whatever happens from here on out.
I tested positive in 1985 and never expected to see 40. I'm now 58, and have seen my body age prematurely, and morph into that of a stranger's. When I look into the mirror, I only seem to recognize my eyes. At this point, I really don't sweat any of this. I have happily lived well into the bonus round of AIDS, and although I'm not overly anxious to leave the planet, when that time comes, I'll be okay with it.
