This is the reason I told my boyfriend not to disclose his status. He is an employee at an elementary school..he just found out he was positive this past spring and was going to tell people. I talked him out of it because we both work in the school district. He was infected before we started dating, but fortunately I am negative. I work in the cafeteria of a preschool, and I can imagine the parents at my school wanting me to leave my job for fear of infecting their children, because of ignorance
After 20 years and see2ing what Ryan White has to endure, it is still alive the stigma and the ignorance of people regarding HIV/AIDS!!! That beautiful child should not have to go through the madness that is going on!!! It is 2010 and people are still acting like babies!!! Grow up people and leave that beautiful child alone!!! Let her get the education she needs and get on with your own lives. This is just heartbreaking to read, that this foolishness is still around!!! It needs to stop!!!

I had to do a double take here. At first glance my mind said Indiana and I thought OMG, it is Ryan White all over again and had to go back and look at the story. It is bad enough how bigotry punishes those who are infected, but even worse to punish this poor child! God must see the world as a shameful place.
