A condom shortage in Kenya has left millions of people without the prophylactics, Capital News reports. Reports claim residents of the Kenyan town of Isiolo are reusing condoms. The country’s health ministry has requested an emergency supply of 45 million condoms from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), which should arrive April 10. Unexpected demand and bureaucratic delay in ordering more are blamed for the shortage. Kenya has proposed an airline tax to increase revenues for its HIV/AIDS programs.
