While HIV rates are on the rise among Latinos, only 41% of primary care providers in Los Angeles offer HIV tests or safer sex counseling to their Hispanic patients, according to a study in the March issue of the Journal of the National Medical Association. Only 36% of the providers offered more than 20 HIV tests during the year-long study, 24% offered 11-20 tests, 27% offered 1-10 tests and 6% offered no tests at all.
