“Suit Up,” a bowtie icon created by graphic designer Adam Lyons, was the winning entry in the “L.A.’s Next Sex Symbol” condom package design competition, according to a Los Angeles County Department of Public Health statement via PR Newswire. The condom will be manufactured by ONE Condoms and distributed for free throughout the county. The competition to create a first-ever Los Angeles–branded condom was undertaken to promote safe sex and reduce sexually transmitted infections in Los Angeles County, where an estimated 2,000 new HIV infections occur annually. Lyons’s design was selected from more than 500 entries. The top 10 designs will appear on 1 million and ONE condoms to be distributed this year.
