Half of you POZ people are being ignorant. the law is not against HIV+ people, its against HIV+ people who knowingly spread the disease. A lot of infectected people do spread the disease. A lot of blacks in Maryland, Houston, Atlanta, and other places spread it. Some are on the downlow, others are just plain evil. I'm a black man who is involved in the community and I see whats going on. POZ people, accept responsiblity and stop playing the victim.

This is a reply to Jeff's hateful comment. EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE, POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE. THAT MEANS YOU TOO, JEFF. FYI, I have never NOT disclosed my status and infected another. Stop the hate, and take responsibility for your life too. Positive people have the same right as you to a fulfilling sexlife and love. No more hate and stigmatizing of positive people. We are only human not criminals. Most new infections are from people NOT getting tested to know their status.

There are two instances for which someone's HIV status may be viewed as 'criminal'. The first relates to those who who have a binding contract with clear expectations of fidelity. Prior to entering into this contract both parties should have complete a 'testing' baseline. If something should change (someone becomes HIV+) then we have breach of contract. The second is in cases of sexual assualt. For every other situation, each party must be responsible for thier actions.

The deciding decision is if the HIV had unsafe or unprotected sex with another person and actually contributed to infecting them with HIV. This should be a felony offense! I have HIV and will not have unsafe sex with anyone and that is my responsibility and unfair to those who comply to those who willingly ignore their sexual desires and diseases.

I think the HIV NEG person who is having unprotected sex should to tell the person their having sex with their status. Dont put all the responsability on the other person.

I can't believe there is still so so much hatred and stigma towards HIV still and this is 2012 peeps. Hep C will kill you faster and is more infectiouse and kills more peeps than HIV so why is HCV or SIV a felony. what should be a felony is stigma and ignorance and plain stupid peeps that should be a felony.

Hey, you poz people, it's YOUR responsibility not to spread, not the negative ones. You KNOW what HIV is and if you continue to infect people without telling them, you should be thrown in jail until cure is found. It's that simple. Why is that you don't want to be accountable for your stupidity?

The specific criminal law should be as stated, DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL!!! if knowing and DELIBERATELY INFECT another human being should be a criminal offense. Stop RAW.erhaps a felony but
